Benedicts solution is a blue solution that can be used to detect the amount of simple sugars in carbohydrates, when a carbohydrate with low sugars is placed, the Benedict’s solution forms a green/yellow ppt( precipitate) but when the sugars are high, it turns to a red/orange ppt
